Next February, I have been lucky enough to have been selected as part of a small school group visiting Ghana. We will be taking part in lots of activities including teaching in a primary school and participating in a community based project in a village called Tortibo. We will also join a secondary school to see how life there differs from our own school life. As part of the expedition, we have been asked to fundraise for the communities and schools that we will visit.
So I am going to raffle a ‘Box of Chocolate’ over the next two weeks during Saturday mornings at Borough green Village Hall. Now this isn’t just ‘A’ box of chocolates, but a huge box of assorted chocolate items, with two smaller runner up prizes. Caroline will draw the winning tickets on Saturday, 22nd October.
I would like to emphasize this isn’t a fundraiser to pay for me to go on this trip. ALL money raised will be taken with us and used within the communities we visit. I would also like to point out that this is not connected to the dance school – Caroline has just kindly let me use her Facebook page and Saturday mornings to let you know about it. And finally, I need to point out that some of the products in the prizes do contain nuts – and enough chocolate to make you feel sick!!
Thank you and good luck!
